Training Material Added 5-5-11
DCS Trade Unit training covering all TAA program changes resulting from the sunset of the expanded TAA Program under the Globalization Adjustment Assistance Act of 2009 and the reversion to the former TAA Program effective February 15, 2011 as announced in MassWorkforce Issuance No. 11-12 (2/14/11).
RTAA / ATAA & Trade 101 Training Materials Added 5-10-10
The training content is divided into two distinct sections. The morning session will specifically focus on the changes to the Reemployment / Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance (RTAA / ATAA) program. The afternoon session provides a more generalized overview that covers the Act and its associated regulations and how the statutory changes affect the main policy and procedural elements of the both TAA program and Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA).
HCTC Materials Added 3-30-10
HCTC helps certain trade-affected workers, and their families pay their health insurance premiums. The HCTC makes health coverage more affordable by paying 65% to 80% of health insurance premiums for individuals who are eligible for the tax credit. HCTC is available on a monthly basis to help individuals pay their health insurance costs as they become due or on a yearly basis when they file their federal tax return.
Trade Adjustment Assistance Program
and Related MOSES Training Added 8-31-09
The DCS Trade Unit and the MOSES training staff will conduct seven, one-day training sessions covering all aspects of the changes to the Trade Adjustment Assistance program (TAA) resulting from enactment of the Trade and Globalization Adjustment Assistance Act of 2009 (Division B, Title I, Subtitle I of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009) which significantly amended the TAA program. The changes were announced in Training and Employment Guidance Letter No. 22-08, Operating Instructions for Implementing the Amendments to the Trade Act of 1974 Enacted by the Trade and Globalization Adjustment Assistance Act of 2009 (5/16/2009) . The changes were effective as of May 18, 2009.
The sessions will cover changes to the Act and associated regulations and how the changes affect policies and procedures regarding the main elements of the TAA Program, itself as well as Trade Readjustment Allowances (TRA) and the Reemployment / Alternative Trade Adjustment Assistance Program (RTAA / ATAA).
